Eleanor Davies has been working professionally in performing arts for 17 years, with a range of companies including Circus Oz, R &R Circus, Tas Dance, as well as extensive freelance.
Dedicated to the production of quality performance for the community, at large she has a definite passion for live comic performance that has taken her work to international arenas from Stockholm Sweden to Bangkok Thailand and throughout Australia.
Spanning her career to date, Eleanor began as a professional circus performer, to currently concentrating more on comedy/ mime and clowning using the physical medium as performer, director, arts-worker for community events and lecturer.
Eleanor’s main interest and passion is the expression of theatre through comedy and clowning she is currently working on her own show, “Servo” and freelance performance at festivals throughout Australia. Also works as a director in physical theatre/circus. She has a number of performance characters suitable for roving performances and stage / festival appearances.
Eleanor was one of the founding members of Birzircus in Fremantle, and a member of Ran Dan Club. She has worked with Broome kids over many years and they all know and love her. She actually coined the name “Sandfly Circus” in the mid 90’s, the name that the Theatre Kimberley Broome Circus project uses for its great troupe of clever kids.
