Based on the book by Bronwyn Houston, Staircase to the Moon is the adventure of a girl and her grandfather who sneak out at night to climb the staircase to the moon. They brave bloodthirsty mosquitoes, dive-bombing bats, giant boab trees and sinking mangrove mud before making it to the foot of the staircase.
Written and directed by Gwen Knox the stage show stars Wenonah Cardenas as Rosie, Susie Quicke as Mum, and Ninian Donald as Grandad. Musical score by Lorrae Coffin accompanied by Rob Pascoe. The show is choreographed by Dale Kelly.
Based on a natural phenomenon occurring in Broome in Australia’s north west. As the full moon rises, it reflects across the mudflats creating the illusion of a staircase.
Staircase to the Moon promises to be a magical musical puppet show for all ages.
