Two years in the making, we are nearly ready to present our latest original extravaganza of multicultural costumes, drama, dance, music and circus.

Worn Art Revamped: X-Girl Red and the Tragic Pearl is the final instalment of the Bella Trilogy, written and directed by award winning designer and Broome local, Lesley Marsh. The show will feature a stunning collection of wearable art-works created by local Kimberley designers and award winning entrants from Perth and overseas.

Inspired by William Charnley’s The Tragic Pearl, Marsh’s original narrative follows the story of three generations of Broome women interlaced with the tale of one rare and ill-fated pearl. The trilogy stretches from Broome’s pearling heyday in the 1890’s to the 1960’s and focuses on Broome’s unique multi-cultural past.

As we speak, final touches are being made to sets and props, and final rehearsals are being held. Costumes from as far away as North America adorn hangers in the dressing rooms. A two-metre high tight wire awaits in the wings. We hope to see you this weekend for the momentous finale to a trilogy that began in 2014. It's going to be a cracker!
