Who would have thought that Ruth and I could be so busy in Fitzroy Crossing. We have had an absolute blast these last two weeks. We have met every student in the school four times over. Together we have uni-cycled, hung upside down, performed backflips and somersaults, climbed ropes to dazzling new heights, hula hooped, played with the diablo and flower sticks, juggled and generally had a great time.
The staff at the school have been extremely supportive so that all students have committed to engaging with the workshops and belonging to the process of making our show for the 12th of June.
We have even lined up an interview with the local radio station, to tell the whole community about our show and the project!
Tonight I headed down to the football round robin matches at the local oval and saw many of our students there. We have also been very welcomed by our host Richard, with whom we went camping to some wonderful gorges last weekend. This week we fished on the Fitzroy River just passed Geiki Gorge. The Kimberley has a beautiful landscape with equally beautiful and friendly people.
