Theatre Kimberley is a non-profit, community organisation based in Broome, Western Australia that exists to provide access to and training in all forms of theatre for residents and visitors to the Kimberley region. Theatre Kimberley was incorporated in 1995 and in 2005 celebrated ten years of coordinating theatre activities in the Kimberley region.
This year we are identifying and sourcing the appropriate funding and sponsorship to support our future activities. Our program for the next three years is designed to engage the community in the arts and provide opportunities for community members and will include;
- The establishment of a program of youth theatre skills development activities through wide community consultation
- Circus and physical theatre training building on skills and interest generated by Worn Art tissue training in 2005, Lunar Circus 2005, and Big Mama productions 2002 and previous years.
- Production and development of original theatre works
- Development of a youth theatre company
- Continued development of the community art event Be Active Worn Art
- Development and production of an annual theatre production that celebrates the talents of local established and emerging artists
